It is the yearning of the human heart…perfection. How can we make our marriage perfect? How can we make our government perfect? How can we make our community perfect? How can we make ourselves perfect? This drive and yearning for perfection comes from being made in the image of God. We were made for perfection, but we cannot find it in anything but God and His Word.

Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants. If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts. The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies. I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad. (Psalm 119:89-96 ESV)
The value of God’s word is measured in its unchangeableness, its lifesaving properties for those who are afflicted, and its perfection. God’s word is exceedingly broad with plenty of solid ground to stand on and a clear view of any danger and of the path of life.
