Answer: I would suggest that there are non-religious reasons for questioning evolution. A number of scientists have questioned whether evolution is sufficient to explain the vast amount of change that would have to occur in order to arrive at the species we have today from unicellular life. Even 3-4 billion years would not appear enough given only the process of natural selection and random mutation.
Perhaps one of the best books I have read on this subject is Michael Behe’s book The Edge of Evolution. His first book, Darwin’s Black Box, is also helpful.
